How it started
I began collecting 8‑tracks in the 1990s — first through flea markets and Dutch classifieds, later also from sellers in the United States. Because there was very little supply in Europe and I often had many tapes left over, I started selling online around 2015.

In 2018 I registered with the Chamber of Commerce to build a proper webshop, including payment options and a clear stock overview.

Even though it has a business structure, this remains a hobby project:

I don´t do social media

I reuse packaging materials

I focus on content, not marketing

Today, around 5,000 titles are available online. My goal: to give as many 8‑tracks as possible a second life, so they can be enjoyed for years to come.

What exactly are you buying?

Every tape is made ready to play before shipping ( unless stated otherwise, for example the DIY boxes). That includes:

• new splice foil

• new foam pad or felt

• dust‑free interior

• cleaned pinch roller (if needed)

8‑tracks are 30 to 50 years old. Even after testing, it may happen that a tape doesn’t play well on your machine. If that happens, we’ll find a solution together.

Bootlegs, amateur recordings & SALE

Bootlegs

Bootlegs are unofficial releases. Because it can sometimes be difficult to see whether something is official, anything that doesn’t look like a standard album is listed under “bootlegs”. A budget‑friendly way to expand your collection.

SEALED 8‑tracks

I also sell SEALED tapes — items that have never been played. Important: it is not recommended to put a sealed tape directly into your player. The risk of damage is high.

My approach: music is meant to be listened to, not just looked at. So I carefully open sealed tapes, test them, and repair them if needed. If possible, the packaging is put back on.

Amateur recordings

Many people recorded their favourite music onto 8‑track cartridges in the past. It would be a shame to throw these tapes away — I’m happy to give them a second chance. You can find them on the Amateur Recordings page.

SALE

Some tapes are less visually appealing or simply need to make room for new stock. You’ll find those on the SALE page.

Do you have tapes that are worn or broken? YouTube has many excellent tutorials on repairing 8‑tracks — even tapes that seem beyond saving.
